Understanding
Oh Luna Collective
I get this a lot, asking who's involved in Oh Luna Collective, and the fact is actually, Oh Luna Collective is simply just one, me, Nicole Tobin.
Since late 2017 Oh Luna Collective is the creative space in which
I create my art under. Or simplified most of the time now as just, Oh Luna.
Born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand, I left NZ at the beginning of my 20s to live in Germany. Now some years later, I'm based out of Tel Aviv, Israel.
In the past year, I've started to consider myself as a multimedia artist,
as what I create is not narrowed down to just one thing. It can be digital art, such as illustration, animation, video editing, to then street art, canvas painting, to woodworking, and textile upcycling. Whatever I can think of,
I will try to make it, no matter the material, medium, or effort.
My inspiration comes from my surroundings, and the people around me,
and a lot of the time it can be heavily influenced by the skate and surf culture. Which leads me to a separate project of Oh Luna,
which is Oh Luna Skateboards.
Custom, handmade, handpainted cruisers and skateboards.
What started as a weekend project of my dad and I back in New Zealand,
has now become something more- with him continuing to make skateboards and surfboards in New Zealand under Enterprise Boards,
and myself making boards in Tel Aviv, under Oh Luna Skateboards.
So that's me... I appreciate you stopping by and if you have any questions, you're welcome to write to me on Instagram
or via email at ohlunacollective@gmail.com
Regarding commissions or custom art, please contact me to talk and arrange :)
Cheers,
Nicole.
